My eco-confession is that I can't stop buying small bags of chips (it's a consumption limit thing), I have a favorite sandwitch that is wrapped in saran (which is the only saran I use in all year), and I am not fond of homemade toothpaste (why can't it be not-gritty?!).
Let it out, shout it loud, let's band together and cure ourselves of the final frontier of plastic sins! List your stories, confessions, and things you want to change. I know you are out there. I see that oreo wrapper among the Trader Joe's stuff... Let's get out of the plastic closet and start tackling these speedbumps.

Forgive me Mother for I have eco-sinned... My confession is that I wont allow plastic bags into my home because I have known dogs who have suffocated on them trying to get at a food smell. So I mostly remember to bring reusable bags into stores or dont accept a bag if its a few items. So far, so good.
But sometimes, for various reasons I am the recipient of a plastic bag. Recycling is very clear that these can not be included in recycling bin and I don't want them hanging around so I toss them in the garbage. Not tons of them, but enough that it bugs me.
If I was willing to collect them I could donate them to the refuge women in Tucson who make bottle holders and purses out of crocheted plastic bags.
The solution is for me to take in as few of these bags as possible. I'm working on it. I even bought a heavy duty reusable bag for shopping at the hardware store and such.
Great idea Stace!
Hi Lou,
After meeting you briefly at the Kids RiverFest in Northampton, I have been collecting my plastic instead of tossing it in the trash. (Which always made me feel uneasy, but didn't have a good solution). Now I have a large bag that I would like to donated for your use. My question is how could we meet up so I can get it to you?
Thanks,
Lori
The two things that I seem to end up with a lot of are chip bags and the bags that cereal is packaged in. Those are two foods my family loves but I can't make from scratch at home.
Also, why am I good at remembering to bring my reusable bags to the grocery store, but not so good about bringing them when I shop for other things? A habit I must get into.
Good news Chris, you can recycle those cereal bags at the grocery store with your other recyclable plastics!
